Yehuda Lerea, MD
Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist
I am a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist and psychotherapist practicing in both Manhattan and Westchester. I approach work with my patients with warmth, empathy, and curiosity. As a trained psychiatrist in numerous modalities of psychotherapy, I adopt a holistic approach. I work with individuals, couples, and families of all ages for either psychotherapy alone or in combination with medications. At times, I will provide medication monitoring only, when someone has a separate therapist.
While the aspect of therapy that leads to change is not fully understood, I believe strongly that a combination of connected therapeutic moments intertwined with the development of insight and understanding into your lived experience, can bring both meaning and change to patterns of behavior, thinking and feelings.
I went to medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where I was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. I completed my adult psychiatry residency training at Montefiore Medical Center where I served as the chief resident of the adult outpatient psychiatry clinic. I subsequently completed additional training in child and adolescent psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center where I was the outpatient chief.
I am also a psychoanalytic candidate at the New York University Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
